National Memorial to the Few The National Memorial to the Few in Capel-les-Ferne is maintained by the Memorial House of the Battle of Britain and is dedicated to the famous “Little” Churchill – the pilots who fought in the skies over this part of England to keep the country free from invasion. The memorial itself includes the names of 3,000 people who flew, fought and died in what is widely considered to be Britain’s most important battle of the 20th century.
